Obscure Logo of the Week

The mighty Portland State Vikings (2-0) visit Berkeley this week to take on Coach GQ's California Bears.

The Vikings also receive credit as the obscure matchup, and thus the logo, of the week. Bear in mind that the Vikings are no lightweight despite their I-AA status. Portland State upset New Mexico 17-6 the first week of the season and thumped Northern Colorado 45-3 this past Saturday.

Note: This is the same Northern Colorado whose second-string punter stabbed his starting rival recently. I noticed that after seeking out the Vikings logo and just thought I'd remark again that this is a really sad situation.

While we're on the subject of Northern Colorado, I feel obligated to point out that they're also the Bears and that they have the same color scheme as GQ's Bears. Counting the UCLA Bruins, who have a similar (albeit slightly different) blue and gold scheme, what's up with bears and those colors?? Do they naturally seek out blue and gold in the wild?
